In 2021, after discovering their love for pickleball, Will and Denise Richards searched for a place to play during the winter. The only indoor facility they found was over two hours away – a converted barn with four courts, no heat, and no bathrooms. Yet, despite the conditions, it was packed with players.
At that moment, the Richards had a vision to create something better: a dedicated indoor pickleball experience that was welcoming, well-equipped, and accessible to all.
By the fall of 2022, that vision became reality with the opening of Dill Dinkers’ first location in Columbia, Maryland – featuring 12 indoor courts, a pro shop, event space, and more. From day one, they trusted CourtReserve to power their operations – a decision made easy by Denise Richards’ firsthand experience using the platform as a player.
The Dill Dinkers' vision stretched far beyond a single club. Even before launching their first location, the Richards planned to scale quickly – and they executed that vision with remarkable speed.
In less than a year, Dill Dinkers expanded to four new locations in the U.S. Then, in September 2023, they launched their franchising business model and secured commitments for 282 franchise locations.
As they grew, CourtReserve scaled with them, providing the infrastructure needed to manage their expanding network while maintaining operational consistency.
Today, they have 15+ active locations and over 380 franchise locations in development – solidifying them not only as a national brand, but also as one of the largest pickleball franchises in the U.S.
